How underdogs can win: newyorker.com Shared via AddThis
This is an excellent article written by one of my favorite authors, Malcolm Gladwell. It is a long article but well worth your time. I have always cheered for the underdog and love watching underdogs win victories in sports and business. It happens all the time. Want to learn what Malcolm Gladwell thinks is the key to their success....this article will tell you. Please share your thoughts and let me know if you agree or disagree with his analysis.
Robert,
I definitely love the "out of the box" thinking the article points out.
One Goliath that didn't seem to keep up with David is Encyclopedia Britannica. I remember them as a kid as THE source of info. Now, I am surprised to see they have a website and they even offer a "pay for info" option. They claim they have many experts on subjects that a person can trust, but just because a website says you can trust an author, doesn't mean the author has the "fruit on the tree" of what they are writing about.
Thanks for the reminder to think out of the box!

Exactly. People don't like change. Companies accepting the changing environment will do well. Those like some of the big media companies that are not embracing new technology and the move to online content will continue to face eroding market share and poor business results until they go out of business. That is but one example of a Goliath being over thrown right now. Thanks for sharing.

Good article! The biggest thing that I pulled from it is to challenge that status quo. Challenge the ways "it's always been done". But when you do, expect some whining from Goliath.
Thanks for all you do!
